Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

Swadhyai (“Swadhyai”, “we”, “us”), operated by Redigit Technologies, is an AI-powered self-study companion for school students. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights. It is written in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). By using Swadhyai you agree to this policy.

Who our accounts are for

Swadhyai is designed to be used by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of their child. The guardian creates and controls the account. The child does not create their own account — they study through a private link secured by a PIN that the guardian sets. Because the learner is a minor, we rely on the guardian’s verifiable parental consent for the processing of the child’s data, as required by the DPDP Act. We do not serve advertising to children, and there is no chat or social feed.

Information we collect

  • Guardian account: email address (used for one-time-passcode sign-in), and any phone number you provide.
  • Student profile: the child’s name, class, board, school (optional), and a study PIN (stored only as a secure hash, never in plain text).
  • Learning data: study progress, time spent, assessment answers and scores, and — where you choose to use it — photos of handwritten answers and any supplementary study material you upload. Uploaded images may be processed by optical character recognition (OCR) to read the text.
  • Payment data: subscriptions and payments are processed by our payment gateway (Razorpay). We receive and store payment and subscription identifiers and status — we do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank credentials.
  • Technical data: essential session cookies to keep you signed in, standard server logs, and — on our public website and the guardian dashboard only — privacy-preserving analytics cookies (see “Cookies & analytics” below).

How we use it

  • To create the study plan and generate lessons and assessments from the child’s syllabus.
  • To track progress and show reports to the guardian.
  • To process payments, manage subscriptions, and provide support.
  • To send essential service emails (e.g. account, study-plan, and billing notices).
  • To understand, in aggregate, how our website and app are used, so we can improve them.
  • To keep the service secure and to comply with law.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use children’s data for advertising or profiling.

Service providers we share data with

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers (“processors”) to run Swadhyai, and we share personal data with them only as needed for the purposes below and under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms:

  • Cloud hosting, database and authentication — to run the service and sign you in securely.
  • Secure cloud file storage — to hold uploaded study material and answer images.
  • AI and machine-learning providers — to generate study content and to read text from uploaded images (OCR).
  • Payment gateway — to process payments and manage subscriptions (currently Razorpay, governed by its own privacy policy).
  • Email delivery — to send transactional emails.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics, to measure aggregate usage of our public website and guardian dashboard (never on children’s study pages; see “Cookies & analytics” below).

Some of these providers may process data on servers outside India. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps for such transfers to remain consistent with applicable law. We do not sell or rent your personal data, and our providers are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies — for example to keep a guardian signed in and to secure forms. These are necessary for the service to work.

On our public website and the guardian dashboard, we also use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (such as which pages parents visit) so we can improve it. We have configured it conservatively: IP addresses are anonymised, and Google’s advertising and cross-site personalisation features are turned off. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

We deliberately do not run analytics on the student study pages. A child’s study session sets no analytics cookies and is not tracked by Google Analytics — only the essential cookie needed to keep them in their session.

You can control or block cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across every website using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use Swadhyai.

Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as the account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete the account and its data at any time (see your rights below).

Security

We protect data in transit with encryption, store PINs only as hashes, and restrict access to authorised systems and personnel. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you may:

  • access and correct the personal data we hold about you and your child;
  • request deletion of the account and associated data;
  • withdraw consent (which may end your ability to use the service); and
  • raise any data-protection concern with us.

To exercise any of these, email us at swadhyai@redigit.net. We aim to respond within the timelines the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notified to you.
